Extended Day Program

A Natural Extension of Our Programming

Westfield Friends School’s Extended Day Program offers a safe and nurturing environment for students that require before and/or after school care on either a regular or occasional basis.  The program is viewed as a natural  extension of  the school’s daily program. As such, the program does not operate when the school is not in session, including holidays, breaks, and summer vacation.

Morning Care is available in the LIBRARY from 7:00 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. for a flat rate of $6.  For safety and security reasons, students are not permitted to wander campus or wait outside without parent or guardian supervision prior to 8:10.  All students arriving on campus before 8:10 a.m. must enter through the Main Office entrance and report to the Morning Care Provider in the Library. It is requested that all students in Pre-K  through 3rd  grades be escorted into the building by a parent or guardian to report to the Morning Care Provider.  Please be aware that any student arriving on campus before 8:10 a.m. will be placed in Morning Care and charged accordingly. The only entrance available to students and parents before 8:10 is the Main Office entrance.

During Morning Care, students are welcome to prepare for their day by relaxing with a book, studying, quietly socializing with friends, using technology, or playing with board games or construction toys.  Your child is welcome to bring a light breakfast snack, as well. Students are dismissed to their classrooms at 8:10 and the youngest are accompanied to their classrooms by the Morning Care Provider.

The Afternoon Care program operates from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and is offered at a rate of $8 PER HOUR (one hour minimum, with 15 minute incremental charges).  Students attending Afternoon Care report to the lunchroom at 3:00 p.m. after dismissal from class.  The Afternoon Program includes scheduled periods for snack, outdoor /indoor recreation, mandatory homework/study time, reading/story time, and technology use.  Parents /guardians must park in the parking lot and come in to the Main Office to sign out/pick up their student from Afternoon Care.  Please bring your Car Line nametag in order to identify yourself for sign out.  Relatives, friends, or other designated adults picking up students must be registered in writing  or email with the Extended Day Program staff. A late pick-up fee of $10 per child per 10 minutes will be charged for students not picked up by 6:00 p.m.

Please be aware that students not participating in an afterschool  activity or sport who remain on campus after the 3:15 p.m. are placed in Afternoon Care and charged accordingly.
