Key Parent Council & School Annual Events

Back to School Night (September - 2 weeks after term begins)
All parents gather in the auditorium for a general introduction, and then adjourn to the individual classrooms to be briefed on their child’s grade. Parent Council dues ($20) are collected at this time, and school calendars are available for purchase.

School Merchandise
The school makes available to parents the opportunity to purchase sweatshirts and tee shirts, along with other related garments festooned with the school's name.

Halloween Program
Masquerade Extraordinaire! At 9:00 a.m. on Halloween, the entire school assembles to guess one another by class. Parents are cordially invited to attend - be sure to bring your camera. At Quaker Friday, all children receive a pumpkin to carve and take home to their family.

Harvest Festival
This cross school event happens on the Saturday nearest to the end of October. All families are invited to take part in Harvest crafts, fun, games and refreshments

Fall Book Fair
This event gives you an opportunity to stock up on gifts for the holidays, and benefit the school. We either organize a Scholastic book fair on site, or an event at the Moorestown Barnes & Noble. In the past at Barnes & Noble we have had visiting authors, displays of our students art, musical performances from different grades, and readings by teachers. This is one of our largest fundraising activities of the year.

Thanksgiving Program
All classes sing or present offerings for Thanksgiving. This begins at 10:00 a.m. on the day we break for Thanksgiving. Everyone is invited. Please come - bring your cameras. Thanksgiving vacation commences at its conclusion.

Thanksgiving Food Collection
The day of our Thanksgiving recess, we collect food to be distributed to local families and agencies servicing needy local people.

Fall SCRIPS Cards Fundraiser
Buy your Christmas gift cards for any brands available and a % of sales goes directly to the school. This activity was our primary fund raiser in 2010.

Christmas Program
An all-school effort starts off the holidays with a delightful morning of pageantry on our last day of school. The children have already attended the program the morning before to ensure more room to seat the parents. Plan to come early - seating is still at a premium! Enjoy the Cookie Walk downstairs in the cafeteria before the event.

Holiday Luncheon
This is an annual event held at the close of school, after the Christmas Program, to say "thank you" to the teachers and staff for all their time and effort on behalf of our children. The Parent Council and school hosts the school staff.

Spring SCRIPS Cards Fundraiser
Buy your Easter gift cards for any brands available and a % of sales goes directly to the school. This activity was our primary fund raiser in 2010.

Easter Egg Hunt
This annual event involves all the school on the day before our Easter recess. Colored paper eggs are hidden over the entire school property and are redeemed for jelly beans at the conclusion of the hunt. It is a festive, active occasion to which parents are cordially invited.

Father/Daughter Dance (May every other year)
This bi-annual event is a favorite with Dads and daughters alike! The auditorium is converted into a disco for Dads to enjoy dancing the evening away with their daughters.

Mother/Son Bowling Event (May every other year)
Mothers and sons get to enjoy some sporting time together, with a bowling event organized on a Sunday afternoon.

Spring Pancake Breakfast
This annual event involves all the school and is one of our most loved community activities, as well as being a great fundraising opportunity. Breakfast is served in the Auditorium for all parents and kids who wish to take part, and members of staff play a great role in helping to serve our students.

Spring Book Fair
This event gives you an opportunity to stock up on summer reading list required books, and benefit the school. We either organize a Scholastic book fair on site, or an event at the Moorestown Barnes & Noble. In the past at Barnes & Noble we have had visiting authors, displays of our students art, musical performances from different grades, and readings by teachers. This is one of our largest fundraising activities of the year.

Field Day
Each class participates in the all-school garnet and blue competition, which will be held the third Friday in May at 1pm.

6th, 7th and 8th Grade Dances
Four dances are sponsored by the Parent Council in November, February, April, and May. The dances begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m.
