Confidence, Community, and Care Building in the Poconos

Throughout the trip, students participated in a variety of outdoor classes and experiences, including hiking, wildlife and ecology studies, team-building initiatives, and evening programs like campfires and night hikes. They learned about the natural world while developing cooperation, independence, and leadership skills outside of the classroom.

One of the highlights of the trip was watching students step outside of their comfort zones, support one another, and fully embrace the experience, whether trekking through trails, participating in group challenges, or simply enjoying time together in the cabins and dining hall.

The trip was filled with laughter, muddy sneakers, late-night campfire sing-alongs, and meaningful moments that our students will hopefully remember for years to come. We are so proud of the way our middle schoolers represented the Westfield community with kindness, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the entire trip.
