My favorite memory has been the memories I’ve created this year, such as the play and the other memories I’ve created with my classmates and friends.
What advice would you give to the younger students at Westfield Friends School?
Time is short, make the most of every day you have at this school and the community. Since the last two years I’ve been separated from the school and I don’t remember much of my elementary years, it’s been somewhat of a race against the clock to make lasting memories before I leave for high school. Enjoy the time you’ve got, have fun, and make the most of every day.

Placing in the 93rd percentile nationally in the High School Placement Test and getting two scholarships from high schools.

WFS was lucky to have Kyle back with us these last two years!  Kyle’s character can be most keenly seen in the contributions he made to his class and school community.  He was an integral part of the reworking of the 8th-grade play and worked hard to get a flag football team going at school.  He also created a fantastic, funny, and thoughtful 8th-grade class Kahoot!

Dear Makenzie,

You’ve grown so much as a person and as a student this past year, especially learning how to manage your work and improve upon your writing. You have a quality in you that seeks perfection in everything you do, so do not be afraid to let go every once in a while and just enjoy the journey. One of my favorite and memorable accomplishments from you was your Narrative Essay about being caught in a snowstorm. Watching you perform “Burn” in front of your school community, the way you help your sister navigate and negotiate the complexities of being a 7th grader, the manner in which you carry yourself in class and with your peers is exemplary. Dear Samia,

You are a thoughtful, meticulous individual. Your keen eye for detail makes you a good writer, an excellent reader, and a humble observer of the world around you. You seldom involve yourself in the ballyhoo and instead remain captain from the sidelines. I will remember your spotlight as the decision-maker when we visited Camp Dark Waters and you were compelled to guide your classmates vocally through an obstacle. May you find joy and peace in your next adventure.

Dear Will,

Your stage presence for the 8th Grade Play and the spark you bring to your school community generate laughter among your peers, young and old, big and small. I am certain your buddies, your classmates, and your teachers will conceivably miss the youthful and energetic commotion you leave behind. Your end of year presentation on Magic Johnson and the HIV virus went very well. I am proud of the young man you are and the man you are becoming.
