**8th Grade Spotlight**

A Message from Mrs. Valerie Parry:

The graduation of the eighth-grade class is always a rather bittersweet time; we are sad to see their time at Westfield end, but at the same time, we are grateful for the time we have been able to spend with them, and we know that they are leaving for a new academic adventure. This eighth grade has been delightful to work with, and they have grown into confident young men and women, ready to take on the world. They are a diverse group of individuals with strong opinions and convictions, and we have had many scintillating and energetic discussions about everything from the meaning of a line in Shakespeare to current events in the political arena. The eighth grade is full of energy and creativity and they have a great deal to give the world. I am very much looking forward as they leave this "friendly place" to hearing about all of their new experiences and accomplishments Keep in touch graduates!! We will miss you.

My favorite memory was when we did the scavenger hunts during Easter.

Don't get too worried about tests. You already know the information; you just need to remember it.

What is your proudest academic or personal achievement over the last 2 years?

I got a mentorship for this summer at We Make - Autism at Work. I am looking forward to learning a lot this summer.

My favorite memory was when we went whitewater rafting with Dr. Hall and everyone else. We all had fun fighting each other and splashing around.

What advice would you give to the younger students at Westfield Friends School?

I would say to never give up and to try your hardest in school and on homework because it will all help you in the future.

What is your proudest academic or personal achievement over the last 2 years?

My proudest achievement is when I won the flag football championship and went undefeated.
