Teacher Margaret's "View From My Window" - May 19th

We have enjoyed two wonderful events this past week. On Friday we had a celebratory Field Day! Teacher Josh has earned a new role as our motivating and wonderful Field Day MC. The kids had fun. Parents were back with us to cheer on all of the kids!  Take a look at some photos from the event HERE. Oh and I think Blue won or Garnet won…..or we all won.

On Saturday the auditorium was full of alums, current parents, past parents, and friends of the school for the annual A Taste of Our Towns event. We tasted wonderful food from 13 different local restaurants. We exceeded our fundraising goal. Most importantly, I am grateful we were able to be together.

We Are Water ProtectorsSummer is just around the corner and in support of next year’s theme “We Seek An Earth Restored” we have decided on the following books for our one community summer read together program.  We are asking that all of our students in our school community read and enjoy We Are Water Protectors by Carole Lindstrom.

Fourth and Fifth Grade students will also read Healer of the Water Monster by Brian Young
Healer of the Water Monster

The Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Grades will also read Song for a Whale by Lynne Kelly
Song for a Whale

All of the books are available in local libraries.

In friendship,

Margaret
