Recognizing Signs of Depression

VENUE: The program will be on ZOOM (Link will be sent closer to the date)

DATE: March 29th

START TIME: 7:00 pm

As a follow-up to our School Counselor, Donna Hughes-Gore's presentation on understanding and managing anxiety in children, Donna has arranged for a representative from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to come and speak with us about understanding depression and how we can be smarter about mental health.

"More Than Sad: Parent Education is an approximately 90-minute program that teaches parents how to recognize signs of depression and other mental health problems; initiate a conversation about mental health with their child; and get help."

While the program focuses on understanding teens, all parents and guardians regardless of the age of their children, are encouraged to attend. You never know when you might be in a position to help.

The presentation will be approximately 90 minutes. It will include a 25-minute video followed by a presentation by Deanna Brugger, Programs Manager, New Jersey Branch, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
