This week Tom Martin, founder of The Free Book Project, joined us to tell students about the mission of his organization. Our students rallied and donated books for him to take back to Camden as well as the various other programs where he distributes free books to. There, they will help improve access to literacy—especially members of our community in marginalized or vulnerable areas.
Afterward, Buddy Teams connected in each teacher’s classroom to make bookmarks to send with the books everyone had donated.
"We bring books where they are most needed and give them away. To achieve this mission, we distribute books of all genres for all ages through our various programs."
