Parent and Guardian Council
Fostering a Positive Community Spirit
The Parent Council of Westfield Friends School exists to foster positive community spirit between the key constituencies of the school. It runs family events throughout the year, as well as carrying out fundraising activities that help underwrite events and generate funds for larger school projects such as a new outdoor play space, technology upgrades, or school transportation needs.
In the tradition of Quaker SPICES - Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, Stewardship - the Parent Council has chosen as its mission, Service. Parent Council identifies, facilitates, and creates valuable opportunities for students and parents to come together and have an impact on our communities. These volunteer service events may take the form of a park clean-up, feeding the hungry, visiting pediatric hospital patients and nursing home residents, and more. All are welcome to participate and your ideas are encouraged!
Parent Council meetings are typically held the first Monday of the month and alternate between starting at 8:30 am and 7:00 pm. Except for select offsite meetings, they will take place in the Middle School Lounge. ALL are welcome!
Parent Council Dues ($20 per family), and Class Dues ($25 per student) are requested at the beginning of each year, and WFS pictorial calendars are available for purchase ($20 each or 2 for $30).
