To best sustain all of the math skills your students have learned and practiced over the past year, the faculty has decided on the IXL "Summer Boost Math Program" for students rising into grades 5-8. IXL Summer Boost aligns with the math we teach in the elementary and early Middle School Grades. The program allows students to answer skill-specific problems and learn from their errors. Your children are familiar with the program and already have usernames and passwords.
The “Summer Boost Math Program” is designed for students to complete in four weeks. Each week is broken down into 5 days ~ for 20 total days. However, there are plenty of weeks between now and the end of August to complete the program as it fits into your summer plans. Students should focus on spending 10-15 minutes a day on the program. There is a timer on the page to help them know how long they have been working. The goal is for students to achieve a SmartScore of 85. If your child gets stuck, each problem has suggestions at the bottom of the page.
