We have this place called 'The Loft' in third grade and how you get to The Loft is you try and read 250 pages at your home. It doesn't matter how many days or weeks it takes, you just need to read 250 pages. and when we go up to The Loft, it's just a more comfortable place to read up there and it's more of, like, an achievement for you. I like Westfield because it's very friendly and the teachers are nice. So, I started here at PreK in Mrs. Marrazzo's class. When I was in this class I was really shy and as I've grown up I've become more outgoing and I've been able to try out for plays and musicals. They start to develop confidence by going on stage for the Thanksgiving program and the Christmas program and we get to watch how they grow and transform into older students and how much confidence they have compared  to when they started in Pre-K. What I like about Westfield Friends is how all the grades combine together. In Pre-K your have buddies and you get that buddy all until first grade, and then after first grade, when you get to 6th grade, you get your Pre-K buddy. Now you're the older buddy. That's what I like about Westfield. What I like about Westfield are the Quaker Fridays, where the whole school gets together and does fun stuff. All the kids from grades kindergarten to 8th grade, they get mixed up into different groups and I think it's special because it only happens once a month and it's a good way to make new friends and get to know people. Westfield is a small Friends School, so students live and learn the Friends testimonies everyday in a nurturing and supportive, really academically stimulating environment where, as Eric Johnson said, "Wisdom can come from any corner of the classroom". Westfield is also a Pre-K to Eight school, which research shows mean students are happier, they're more engaged, they feel more part of the community, and also we're able to designate our resources, our time, and our efforts, our leadership opportunities, solely to elementary and middle school students. So kids can be kids; they can develop a sense of self and they're that much better prepared when it's time to move on to Upper School. We develop a climate here of tolerance, and respect that allows the children to grow a strong sense of self. They respect their teachers; they respect each other. When they leave this place I do think they have a wonderfully strong sense of who they are. The first word that pops into my head when I think about Westfield is just 'friendly'. I think that everything about this school radiates friendliness, from the teachers to the students to the very bricks it's built on. You can't walk through the halls without somebody saying 'Hello' or holding the door open for you. I think that just really shows how nice everybody in this school is. Family. Home. Happiness. Magical. Supportive. Interactive. Friendliness. Community. Friendship.
